Are hair transplant results temporary?

Hair transplant surgery has gained much popularity as a treatment for baldness and this is because of the natural looking result which one gets after this procedure. This result is generally permanent unless and until there is some underlying medical problem which is responsible for hair loss and has not been corrected.

One has to understand the basic concept to know that why the result is permanent. In hair transplant donor follicles are harvested from the back and sides of the scalp as the hair follicles in this area is resistant to the effect of DHT and then these follicles are transplanted in the area of baldness. So these follicles maintain their characteristics when they are transplanted into the new recipient site. That’s why these results are generally permanent.
