Do I need to cover my head after hair transplant?

After hair transplant, certain precautions need to be taken and these post-operative instructions are generally provided by the treating doctor.

There is generally a bandage over the head after hair transplant and at our center we remove it after 2days of the surgery. After that patient is required to cover the head for another 10 days. This is required to avoid direct sun exposure to the head which has become more sensitive after the procedure and also to avoid exposure to dirt or pollutant which may cause some irritation and itching on scalp. One can cover the head by a loose-fitting cap/hat or one can loosely tie a bandana on the head.
