Does hair grow naturally after hair transplant surgery?

Yes, the transplanted hair grows naturally. The donor follicle is generally taken from the back and sides of the scalp as these are permanent hair bearing areas. The follicles are resistant to the effects of DHT (hormone known to cause baldness). When these follicles are transplanted in the area of the hair loss, they tend to preserve their property of resistance to DHT. These follicles after surgery undergo shedding till 3 months. The growth starts after this shedding and continues as per natural hair cycle.
