Can A Hair Transplant Damage Existing Hair Follicles in A Thinning Area?

September 03, 2019 | By Dr. Sangay Bhutia (Hair Transplant Doctor in Delhi, NCR, India)

When hair transplant is done in area of thinning then there may be some temporary hair loss due to shock loss but if the roots of these hair are healthy, they will grow bac but this loss may be permanent if these hairs are already in process of miniaturization. There may also be some damage to the surrounding healthy roots if there is only thinning and hair transplant is not indicated. If the doctor is not careful about the surrounding follicles, they may get damage.

Otherwise damage or hair loss doesn’t happen after hair transplant.
