How Many Times Should I Wash My Hair After Hair Transplant?

Washing the scalp or the head after hair transplant is one of the important post-operative care which should be followed as advised by the treating doctor. In the immediate post-operative period we tell our patients to wash the head twice a day once only pouring the plain water gently and once with the mild baby shampoo or mild medicated shampoo. We tell the patients to just pour the shampoo solution followed by gentle pouring of the water. This should be done for initial 10-12 days. After that once the scabs have been cleaned then once a day washing is good enough. At this time mild, gentle rubbing can be started. After 3-4 weeks, one can start the regular head wash as before.
