Does shaving head promote hair growth ?

Shaving the head promotes hair growth is more of a myth rather than the truth. The growth of the hair is determined by the heredity and also some contribution from the environmental factors. Shaving the head does not have co-relation with hair growth as shaving only removes the hair shaft from the surface of the scalp and the growth of the hair is from the follicle which lies deep in the skin.
