Does An Uneven Hairline Mean That You Are Balding?

Uneven hairline is the hairline which lacks symmetry in both sides. This can happen in both men and women. Uneven hairline may or may not be a indication of hair loss as there may be other reasons also.

Male pattern baldness

It is one of the reason that can cause uneven hairline. The hairline start to recede giving it an uneven appearance but ultimately it may cause baldness with a horseshoe pattern of hair loss. It is generally due to the result of hormone DHT on the hair follicles which are genetically prone to this hormone.

Traction Alopecia

This is due to the stress caused on hair follicles due to the pull on the hair. This can happen in both male and female population. This may be caused by tight hair styles like braids. This may be seen due to tight turban and in beard region due to tight fixing and binding of beard.

Hairline which is maturing

With age the hairline moves slightly up and back & can become uneven.
