Can the way you wash your hair cause shedding?

Washing the hair is a common universal phenomenon and everyone washes the hair. The frequency of washing the hair may be different and still there are many question concerning this common activity. One of the common question is can washing the hair cause shedding or falling of hair. Some think that frequent washing may cause shedding as it removes the natural oil from hair but anyhow the hairs are generally to be washed daily. The dirt and pollutants which gets attached to hair and along with the sebum or the oil can cause blockage of the follicle. The shedding is more noticeable during hair wash because some hair which are loose and are in telogen phase but otherwise have not come out, they come out with washing and shampooing.
Somethings which one should take care is:
 gentle shampooing can be done daily.
 Avoid hot showers for hair wash, use lukewarm water
 Avoid vigorous rubbing with towel for drying the hair.
 Use gentle or mild shampoo.
