As with any successful surgery, hair transplant also depends on many factors to be successful. These factors include patient factors and clinician factors.
Patient factors include presence of any co-morbities, presence auto-immune disease, degree of hair loss and expectation of the patient.
Factors related to the clinician are the experience of the clinician, Cleanliness and hygiene in the clinic.
When to say about the result?
The result of hair transplant manifests properly by 10-12 months after the surgery. Initially we all there is a universal phenomenon of shedding which sometimes extends till 3 months and growth actually starts at 4 months of time and total result is seen at around one year of time.
A successful hair transplant has a cosmetically good hair line which is appropriate for age and has subtle irregularities mimicking the natural hair line. The density should be appropriate for the site like frontal hair line should have good density while crown area comparatively is not as dense as hairline. The same is true for angulation of the transplanted hair. Different areas of scalp has different angulation and a good result should always follow the natural angulation.
